Steve Saupe – Botany of Halloween
Dr. Saupe is a retired professor (Emeritus) from the joint biology
department of the College of St. Benedict and Saint
John’s University. He taught courses in plant physiology,
economic botany, plant systematics, and introductory
biology. He received my PhD from the University of Illinois,
Urbana-Champaign. He has been involved with maple
syrup production at Saint John’s for more than 25 years. He has a small hobby farm where I raise an assortment of
fruits, veggies and nuts (especially hazelnuts).
